About

Peregrin Charest, OTR/L, CSOT, TIPHP

Perry graduated with a Bachelor's in Rehabilitation Studies & Services and Minor in Family Studies & Human Development from The University of Arizona in 2022, and with a Master's in Occupational Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis in 2024. She has worked in various settings including community mental health, school & education, home health, and short-term rehab.

In Fall of 2025, Perry discovered her passion to specialize in pelvic floor therapy and began her journey by completing various certifications including Pelvic Function Level 1 from Herman & Wallace, Trauma-Informed Pelvic Health from The Functional Pelvis, and received the CSOT (Certified Sexuality Occupational Therapy) designation from ISOT (Institute for Sex & Occupational Therapy). She continues to pursue AASECT Certified Sex Counselor and Certified Functional Pelvic Health Practitioner (CFPHP) designations to assert her expertise and maintain best standards of evidence-based practices when treating clients.

"As someone with lived experiences with medical trauma, having to question whether my mental health or physical health needed to be addressed for my well-being, I pledge to dissolve the traditionally authoritative patient-provider relationship for one of collaboration and client-autonomy. Your safety and consent to your Plan of Care should be in your control, supported by informed decision-making."

-Perry (She/Her/They/Them)

Mission & Vision

Our mission is to provide trauma-informed, affirming occupational therapy services for adults aged 18 and older experiencing dysfunction in their daily roles, habits, and routines related to their pelvic health and sexual wellness. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive space that advocates for and serves LGBTQIA+ individuals, disabled and nondisabled individuals, and interabled couples with dignity, compassion, and respect. Through collaborative, evidence-informed care, we support clients in restoring a sense of safety within their bodies, promoting continence and autonomy, and returning to meaningful occupations that support health, participation, pleasure, and overall well-being.

Our vision is to cultivate a healthcare environment where all adults — especially LGBTQIA+ and disabled communities — have access to affirming, trauma-informed pelvic health and occupational therapy services that honor the whole person. We envision a future where continence, sexual wellness, bodily autonomy, and functional independence are recognized as essential components of health and dignity, empowering individuals and couples to fully participate in the occupations and relationships that matter most to them.

Concerning Insurance

At Sacral Function Therapy, we believe your care should be guided by your needs — not by insurance limitations. Insurance policies often restrict the type of treatment provided, limit the number of sessions available, and prioritize standardized care over individualized healing. These barriers can prevent clients from receiving the time, attention, and specialized support they deserve.

Our private-pay practice was created to offer a more personalized and client-centered approach to pelvic health and sexual wellness. By remaining out-of-network with insurance providers, including Medicare and Medicaid, we are able to focus fully on your goals, your comfort, and your healing process without the restrictions of insurance-driven care.

This means:

  • Longer, more individualized treatment sessions
  • Care plans tailored specifically to your symptoms and goals
  • Greater flexibility in treatment approaches
  • Collaborative, trauma-informed care that honors your autonomy and lived experience
  • Support that focuses on lasting healing, not rushed visits

We work for you and our priority is creating a safe, respectful, and compassionate therapeutic environment where you feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout your care journey.
